Tim’s career in wealth management spans nearly four decades, beginning in 1986 at firms including Bear Stearns, Prudential Securities, and Raymond James. He then took his career into the independent channels — first with American Wealth Management, then co-founding Magnolia Financial Advisors — before spending 15 years as an independent advisor with Transamerica Financial Advisors. In early 2026, he founded Barrett Wealth Group — named after his grandson — with a singular mission: to help clients Build, Protect, and Enjoy Their Wealth.

Tim holds a BBA in Marketing from Georgia State University and is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative (SEC) and Series 7 licensed broker. He has been recognized as a FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction wealth manager, an honor held by fewer than 3% of Atlanta-area advisors, and was a consistent Top 25 advisor at Transamerica Financial Advisors by Assets Under Management.

Beyond the office, Tim’s community service has been equally impactful. He ascended to President of the Buford Business Alliance, growing its membership from 15 to over 300 during his tenure. He has been a member of Kiwanis and founded Beyond Sunday, a Christian-based organization. Tim also co-founded Amor Real Ministries, a nonprofit operating a rescue home for abused women and children in Lima, Peru, where he currently serves as Missions Director.
